Alf's Escape DLC Now Available

Ready for a real challenge? It's waiting for you!

We’re delighted to announce that Alf’s Escape, which is technically the first brand new Oddworld content since 2005, is now available as an expansion pack for Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty on PlayStation 4.

You can buy the extra chapter from here.

However, if you pre-ordered New ‘n’ Tasty in the US, you’ll be able to download Alf’s Escape for free. Likewise, if you’re in the UK/Europe/Australia regions and have a current PlayStation Plus subscription, you’ll also be able to download Alf’s Escape for free.

Over to game designer Matt Glanville to explain more:

“In Alf’s Escape you will once again play as Abe on a daring mission to rescue Alf, the fez-donning, tea-drinking Mudokon we first met in Abe’s Exoddus. It takes place in a completely new, never-before-seen area of RuptureFarms, features all new challenges and puzzles, and sees Abe lead Alf to freedom through a series of grueling death traps.”

“Whether it’s sprinting through a slaughterhouse, being chased by tomorrow’s tasty snacks and menacing meat saws, or lobbing well-aimed grenades across vast chasms overlooking the Stockyards, there’s a long list of reasons no Mudokons work in these parts of RuptureFarms (Except for Alf, but his line of work is a little different!).”

“And of course, it wouldn’t be Oddworld without a generous helping of humor and charming characters, so we recorded brand new dialogue for Alf with Oddworld creator and original voice actor Lorne Lanning!”

Because Alf’s Escape is much trickier than the rest of New ‘n’ Tasty, we require that you’ve at least started the main game and unlocked Chapter Select before Alf’s Escape will be available to play.

We’re hearing reports of a small number of people requiring to restore their licenses on their PS4s to get the content to unlock. To do this, which only takes a minute, go to “Settings” on your PS4, then “PSN”, then “Restore Licenses”. Alf’s Escape should then be ready to play.

We’re still working hard on the other versions of New ‘n’ Tasty, and we hope to have further details on release dates for PS3, PS Vita, PC, Xbox One, Wii U, Mac and Linux soon.
