Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty E3 Trailer

Oddness Awaits...
nntdatesticky

Inhabitants, E3 is here and we have a special something to share with you. Since we released our last trailer at GDC back in March, we’ve been working hard to finish up development of Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty, and we’re inching ever closer all the time. Our new trailer conveys more of the story within the game – not just what you’ll see, but also through the music.

The song used is called “Born to Love You” and it’s by Elodie Adams, a young musician from Australia who just happens to be a massive Oddworld fan. We thought her song was a perfect fit for us because it’s in keeping with the theme of New ‘n’ Tasty and the story of Abe. We’re proud to feature “Born to Love You” in our game’s end credits, and in this trailer.

And on a related note, we’re also excited to announce that Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty will be fully playable at E3 this year, so if you’re in Los Angeles for the world’s biggest gaming expo then please get in touch.

Oddness Awaits…

Does Anyone know the initial release date for the game? People are saying ‘I can’t wait until Monday’ on the Oddworld Inhabitants Facebook Page, is it being released on Monday? Or is that when E3 is?

Simply put, I didn’t like the music at all. Just my humble opinion.

I like that the song / voices and trophies are coming from the community, its a great thing you are doing and this is a pretty good song but it doesn’t really suit Oddworld at all. The Music from the gameplay trailer worked very well, but this new song just doesn’t feel like Oddworld to me at all. I love listening to the Abe’s Oddysee theme in the credits, whilst reading all the names and looking at the concept art, the track is so dark and used to scare me as a kid. I hope the original track is in the game in some way. I still have high hopes for the game of course and can’t wait for it.

Absolutely amazing!! I personally think the music is perfect, and it’s awesome that Oddworld Inhabitants has sourced the title, voices, trophies, and now music from the community. So excited for this game, cannot wait! New ‘n’ Tasty indeed.

Bit of an ODD choice for trailer music. Also, there’s some ending spoilers for those who didn’t play the original.
Other than that, impressive. I eagerly await a release date.

Music is off and I don’t think the quotes from videogame websites are really necessary. Otherwise it is good.

It’s for attracting positive attention from people who aren’t really fans.

But they haven’t got their hands on it yet as far as I know.

Positive attention can be done by good reviews, user ratings on psn steam, metacritic etc.

I’m sorry, but the music is really, really bad. I mean, it’s not bad itself, but it does not fit the trailer AT ALL. If this is the “new direction” to which you planned on taking the game, then I’m not sure I’ll be buying it. Sorry…

It’s just music for the trailer. It doesn’t reflect what the game will be like, it is the game play that does. :P Also I think it is good for appealing to and pulling in newer gamers and potential fans.

While the music might not be too satisfying for current fans, the graphics and redesigning of the game should be. Just my opinion :P

Also I am happy if they do attract more people’s attention since on a previous interview or article they stated if they can manage to sell a certain amount of copies they will be able to make a new game in the Oddworld collection.

I couldn’t agree more. It doesn’t have that Oddworld feel to it. I’d rather have heard the tense atmospheric ambience that is usually present in Oddworld games.

I’m replying to Tom and King Shrykull. It’s a presentation trailer! What do you care what you hear in sound, they’re only showing us what they did on the game graphics!Once you’ll play it, you’ll hear the game soundtrack, be quiet….
