An Update On Munch's Oddysee HD
So, over the past 10 months we’ve been asked the same three questions pretty regularly –
1. When is the Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee HD PS3 patch coming?
2. When are the Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee HD PS3 language versions coming?
3. When is Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee coming to VITA?
So, how about some answers to those?
When we originally started the project we decided that we would only be able to provide separate builds for different languages, IE French only, German only, Spanish only, Italian only, along with the English only versions. However we got a lot of people asking if they could get the English version in the other language territories. So we had to think of a solution to that – well, we did and we’ve come up with one.
There is going to be a huge update coming to Munch’s Oddysee HD PS3 as soon as possible. This update will basically give the game EVERY language. So if you’re in Europe, you’ll get all FIVE languages available to you. If you’re in America you’ll get 3 languages. So, along with all the fixes we promised earlier in the year you’re going to get the languages too.
As to what date that’s coming I can’t give you that exact information as it’s currently going through the Sony FQA process in both America and Europe – as soon as approval is given we will release the update, along with making the game available in other stores. On the day of release we will go into full detail of which stores will be getting the game, but if you’re covered by ANY of the PSN stores, you will have access to the game.
So, what about the VITA version? We’re a small team and most of us are working flat out on Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty, so we just couldn’t get to the VITA version as quickly as we’d have liked. Saying that, we’re literally about to start the FQA process with Sony and we’re hoping to announce the release date for that as soon as we have approval from Sony. So it’s definitely coming and it’s definitely ALMOST here.
Regarding Munch HD on PC – we’re not currently targeting the platform, but may be looking to do so in the future.
