We’ve been getting a lot of questions about where we are with the various versions of Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee HD. We at Oddworld Inhabitants know you really want the game and we’re working hard to make that happen. In this post, we’ll try to answer some of the common questions and concerns you might have.

Those in the US, and many parts of Europe have had the game on PS3 since just before Christmas. Fans in France, Italy, Germany and Spain (and other countries that speak those languages) are still waiting for release. This is due to both Sony and ourselves wanting localised translations in any game released in the European territories as soon as it’s on sale.

We also identified some bugs in the release version of the game, which we want to make sure are fixed and ready to update. All those fixes will be in the localised language versions when they are out.

There’s also another, fairly hefty reason for the delay which, for various reasons, we aren’t able to talk about. Suffice to say that we are working as hard as possible to bring the game to you as soon as humanly possible.

Some people have asked if they can play the localised versions in the original English language. In an ideal world, we would provide an option to play either way. Munch’s Oddysee is over 10 years old, and not only is it old code, but there are other complications like file size and other practicalities. If we can, we will.

We’ll wait until all the PS3 versions of the game are finally out before releasing on the Vita. This should mean you will get the best game possible, with as many bugs squashed as we can find.

Lastly, we will release on PC once all the console versions are out. This will be a minimum of a month after the Vita game, but probably longer. Since it’s a ways off, we will talk about that closer to the time once the roadmap is clearer.

We know we don’t have any dates just yet. We can’t promise you any, so we don’t want to disappoint.

Any questions we missed? Ask in the comments and we’ll try to answer.
