The team at JAW are hard at work making amazing things happen in Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee New ‘n’ Tasty as we speak. There’s still lots to do, but once it’s out the door, the Oddworld is our oyster! So, we’re interested in your opinion on what should happen next. Obviously, there’s a lot more than just popular consensus for us to take into account, but tell us which concept has you stoked the most.

Sligstorm all the way and it should be developed for tablets too.
Depends what gamestyle it would be,i cant imagine a good tablet port if it was a third person shooter for example
Abe’s Exoddus HD definitely makes the most sense at this point. The engine would essentially be identical to New n Tasty, allowing you to make even more money for production of the next game.

We already have a perfectly good Abe’s Exoddus. I think it’s better to get the new stuff out of the way first and THEN focus on updating the old.
Something previously unreleased. Brutal Ballad was my vote, but Squeek’s or Stranger’s Wrath 2 would be just as good.
While I LOVE to see the HD remakes, and basically anything that has to do with Oddworld, I would EVEN MORE LOVE the Idea of the Quintology finished.
I’d really like to see the devs try something new and original with Oddworld. I’d like to see what game-concepts they could come up with taking advantage of the Wii U’s second screen! I also could see them making an episodic Adventure game, similar to the Walking Dead that focuses on the story. I think dialogue is one of the game’s big strenghts, so why not have a game that focuses its gameplay on dialogue and voice-recognition, something like that Milo Demo for Kinect, but with Abe?
Seriously, Oddworld is such a vast Universe with so much potential, it should allow for lots of interesting games in all kinds of genres!
Wii? Really? Remember what happened to the series with the release of games on the original xbox? Release it on a system that is barely used by a large percentage of gamers. Makes perfect sense. Just create intelligent games that don’t rely on being series, that stand alone as a beautiful masterpiece regardless of any of the others. Oddworld is an amazing universe, you can tie stories and characters, but creating games which are amazing in their own right makes so much more sense. I’ve played strangers wrath once coz I love oddworld stories, and will never re play it, it’s not a game that’s got huge replay value. Beating Abe’s oddysee and exoddus? I’ve done it multiple time, just coz the game is so much fun to play and to view. Don’t try to ride a gimmick, no one wants to sit there talking to their console trying to get it to recognise exactly what they’re saying.
I wouldn’t be against them doing stuff for the Wii U so long as it did NOT take the place of any other ports.
In the time Oddworld was shut down the fans dispersed pretty far, so I think putting the new games in as many places as possible is a wonderful thing to do for the fans.
For example, I’m really loving Strangers Wrath on my Vita, and I’m sure I’ll be playing the new Abe on Vita too, but I’m sure I’m in the minority there so I’m not sure I’d want them to make a Vita exclusive.
Maybe if it was also released for tablets on ios and android…
I love that there putting games out on the Vita, but I also really love that so many people are getting the chance to join in unlike back when Munch first came out and I had to sit around for years before I had the chance to play it!
What about Meech’s Oddysee? I’m sure I heard it mentioned a lot of years ago, when Abe’s Exoddus was released… What I read was that the game would tell the story of the last Meech (which we thought were extinct, as seen in Rapture Farms in Abe’s Oddysee). What happened to that project?
There’s no such game! Squeek’s Oddysee is the next in the Quintology. Only Lorne knows what’s happening after that!
Oh, I didn’t know that! Well, maybe you can consider that idea for future developments! I would like to see something new in Oddworld, something surprising.
I liked the idea of Sligstorm – if I remember right, its about an albino slig that’s got to escape their birthing complex or be killed for their genetic abnormality. I’d like it because sligs are awesome (Just look at fan art/fan fiction places, plenty of people that think they’re awesome) and if one does their research, it’d be a neat way of subtly having a disabled protagonist – albinism affects your eye sight and leaves you open to sunburn, lots of it. You can even get humans irl with it, its not ‘lol i look cool and exotic’ its ‘this is a disability’. Its a big problem in…Tanzania? Zimbabwe? Somewhere in Africa.
On another note, I think it’d be great if they toyed with gender binaries a bit more? I mean hey, if those worker class members of eusocial species have no manlybits then who’s to say they have to identify as male in all cases? Some more female characters doing things would be nice too – on the scale that the current protagonists are doing things, I know Sam was gonna be in Munch’s Oddysee but she’s a bit stranded in terms of ‘can do things’.
F A N G U S ALL THE WAY. Why? Because it’s something new and (what is most important) it really makes Oddworld SCARY and DARK again (look at the arts for proof). Thank’s for patience Oddworld Inhabitants.

I have chosen Abe’s Exoddus HD but I want to explain my choice.
As much as I want something new about Oddworld, I think it would be a bad idea to remake Oddysee without Exoddus.
After Exoddus, you could do Sligstorm. As I understand, it was always supposed to be some kind of expension pack for exoddus so you could do it with the engine and assets of Oddysee and Exoddus HD.
After this, I think you should focus on the quintology with Munch’s Exoddus and Squeek’s Oddysee.
But even if you choose to do something different, you can “Shut up and take my money!”.
The only game that I think would be pointless is Stranger’s Wrath 2. I really love Stranger but I think that his story is over at the end of SW.

I’ve been wanting to play Sligstorm since I was a child and first got into Oddworld. It’s near the very bottom of this list so far with only 77 votes, but I won’t give up.
Plus, it makes sense. Doing Abe’s Exoddus HD would be really killing the whole HD upgrade thing. We’ve been waiting for truly NEW Oddworld content for far too long. But Sligstorm was supposed to be a shorter game and ran on the same engine as the other 2D games, so you guys can totally make it on the engine of New n Tasty! That way it wouldn’t be as much work as some of these other games and we can finally get new Oddworld much sooner.
After Sligstorm, I’d like to see Stranger 2, simply because Stranger’s Wrath kind of ended on a cliffhanger. Then, after Sligstorm and Stranger 2, the Quintology must continue! Squeek’s Oddysee must be made! I can live without Fangus and Hand of Odd personally. Oh, and definitely no mobile things. I play games on consoles.
Definitely do Exodus HD next and then Squeeks Oddysee. I’d love to see something new but we’ve waited a long time for the quintology to be finished! Then Sligstorm certainly looks interesting once Squeeks is done, I’d like to see any of them to be honest though.
To be honest, it was a hard decision because I want them all.
But I chose Munch’s Exoddus, as I believe that was where they were going to save Queen Sam? And she’s extremely important considering she may be the only female of the race. I’d love to see Abe’s mother, and for Munch to take care of his gabbiwogs. With Abe (and of course other mudokons) being reunited with his mother, I believe it could be very emotional, sad and heartwarming at the same time, and you people pull people’s heartstrings so perfectly with many delicate issues. I would love to see her.
After that, it’s a hard decision… I’d love to see Hand of Odd… and Sligstorm sounds like a great idea, it’s a shame it was cancelled (or perhaps put on hold?) due to sligs being so ugly (personally I think they look sweet unmasked, concept art of maskless big bro was oddly cute). I hope you guys manage to get on roll and be super busy like other companies, and the world can have their minds expanded to decent games, rather than just shooting, blood, and tits. One of the many reasons why your games are my favourite. Good luck and I love you all!
