You can call me New ‘n’ Tasty

I bet you can’t wait!

Eurogamer Expo 2012 is but a fading memory, but one thing remains in our minds: the new Abe title finally has a name! If you cast your mind back to mid-summer (remember summer?!), we ran the “suggest a name for Abe HD” competition. With over 4.5k suggestions, we at Oddworld Inhabitants were yet again overwhelmed with the response from fans.

The winning name was finally revealed on stage at our developer session and we can say that nearly 40 people suggested New ‘n’ Tasty or some variant. These lucky few will have their name immortalised forever in the game’s credits, as well as receive a poster of the game packaging, signed by Raymond Swanland, when it actually exists.

Winners have already been notified. If you think you should have heard from us, then shoot us a message via one of the usual channels.

  1. What’s the e-mail address you used to notify the winners? I need to do a search since my e-mail is full of spam… I wish I got picked as a winner… Abe is my childhood! :)

  2. @DANIEL (ODDWORLD) I definitely used the form to submit the name, this is the first time I’ve posted in the comments because I feel sorta cheated as i’m 100% sure I submitted Abes Oddysee: New N’ Tasty as one of my several submissions, I tried contacting oddworld through ‘Contact Alf’ and Twitter but I got no reply, I’d be really upset if my submission form didn’t work (I remember there being talk of that elsewhere on the site) :(

  3. Funny this, i’m in the exact same position as Chris Hayton.

I used the contact Alf form some months ago to suggest the name, and got no reply.

More recently I have made multiple attempts to make contact through that same form to ask why i had received nothing, and those too have gone unanswered.

As a lifelong fan of Oddworld Inhabitants you can imagine how excited i was when i thought i was going to be mentioned in the credits, that prospect now looks unlikely though.

Disappointed is not a strong enough word.

  4. I would have thought that as long as the submission was sent to you it wouldnt matter what route it took.

Do you no longer check the contact Alf Form, as i mentioned before, I’ve made multiple attempts at contact and this is the first reply I’ve got in any form.

    • Hi Jo,

Apologies for the poor communication. We stated at the time that entering via the form was the only way to guarantee submitted names. We did our best to check comments etc as well but must have missed some.
