Oddworld Inhabitants and Just Add Water are very excited to announce that we’ll be giving the world’s first demonstration of Abe HD at Eurogamer Expo. Details can be found in Eurogamer’s press release (below), and in the mean time don’t forget that we need to give Abe HD a name: submit your ideas before the deadline tomorrow!

Brighton, UK, 9th August 2012: Eurogamer Expo, the UK’s biggest and best gaming festival, is pleased to reveal that Oddworld Inhabitants and Just Add Water will be showcasing Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee HD and announcing exclusive details at this year’s show.

The Eurogamer Expo will be returning to London’s Earls Court from 27th–30th September 2012 and is expected to welcome over 50 000 gamers.

Industry veteran and Oddworld creator Lorne Lanning will be on stage at 2.30 pm on Sunday 30th September to talk about the history of the series and showcase Abe HD. He and developer Just Add Water will also reveal exclusive new details to attendees, including the first-glimpse demonstration of the game.

“It’s great to welcome the Just Add Water guys back to the Expo stage and we’re delighted that Lorne Lanning is heading over from the States to showcase Abe HD,” said Eurogamer Operations Director Tom Bramwell.

The Eurogamer Expo takes place 27th–30th September 2012 at Earls Court, London, and promises more playable games than ever (including a large number of UK first-plays), our highest-profile developer session schedule, as well as a number of satellite events including the Games Industry Fair.

Tickets for Eurogamer Expo 2012 are now available at www.eurogamerexpo.com.

You don’t seem to be paying attention. Abe’s Oddysee and Abe’s Exoddus can be played on PS3, PSP and PS Vita. Stranger’s Wrath can be played on PS3 and, very shortly, PS Vita. Munch’s Oddysee is coming to PS3 and Vita too! Man, you PlayStation owners have got it made.

If only Microsoft would allow us, we’d release Munch’s Oddysee HD and Stranger’s Wrath HD on Xbox 360, but sadly that is not the case. They spent many months blocking us with red tape, and the ball has really rather passed on them. They have, however, given us concept approval to release Abe’s Oddysee New ‘n’ Tasty on XBLA.

Thank you for remaking Abe (in good old platform format) in HD! This is what Abe fans really love about Abe. 3D just doesn’t sit well with us and hasn’t worked well in previous incarnations. Abe truly deserves the HD remake and its the most exciting game release in years and years. You are all saints for taking this bold step to go back to “basics” and give the fans what they really want. You won’t be disappointed, the fan reaction will be big. And fans, remember to buy the game legitimately. Illegal copies of the game, damage the game developers ability to make more games in the future and we all suffer as a result.

    Peace out
    C

You know, I came back here just to write this comment. Back in the day when this game came out, I did not have xbox, but only ps2, and I was really psyched about this game, then let down when I found out it was only for xbox. I thought it looked so cool and always wanted to play it. Now flash forward a few years to find out an HD refresh version will be coming to PC?!?!?! HELL YES!! I cannot wait for this now and I just had to say, to the DEV’s THANK YOU for doing a HD refresh of a classic great game, I wish more studios did this as well. There are MANY great games that should be remade, so many have gone and faded to the past no longer able to be played on next gen consoles. BIG THANKS to all of you for even devoting your time to this. You made a kid of the 80′s gamer happy!
