Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD on PlayStation 3 has now been patched in all territories, including America, Europe and Australia. The patch adds support for PlayStation Move, 3DTV, YouTube uploading as well as extra controls, fixes and subtitles. The next time you start the game you’ll be made to update to the latest game files. Don’t worry: it’s all good stuff!
3DTV support
Scour the wilds, ruins and hideouts for scumbag Outlaws with the latest stereoscopic broadcasts from the Mongo River. Oddworld has never had so much D!
PlayStation Move support
Immerse yourself in the action by pointing and firing from your very own crossbow. (Note: Your PlayStation Move controller is unlikely to resemble a crossbow.)
Video recording and uploading
Record your victories, failures and candid moments straight to your PlayStation 3, and upload them directly to your YouTube account.
Brightness & Gamma controls
No need to visit Doc for a new pair of eye-spectacles, now you can change the visibility of the very world around you with our brand new sliders.
Audio fixes
Tired of lazy Townsfolk cutting themselves off mid-sentence? Fed up with soft-spoken Live Ammo? Is the soundtrack to your adventure jolted, often absent? Never fear! Our audio fixes fix your audio!
Increased crosshair visibility
9 out of 10 bounty hunters say they prefer our newer, opaquer crosshair. “It’s so much easier to see!” said excited Corn Jaws of New Yolk City.
Fixed Quicksaves and Autosaves
Before, you could only load full saves from the Load Game screen. But now you can revert back to your most recent AutoSave and QuickSave for added convenience.
Extra subtitles
The accessibility of Western Mudos has taken a step up with the introduction of additional gameplay-relevant subtitling in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish.
Performance Improvements

The game stoped when i was calibrated the move controller. I was tried 3 times but nothing.
That’s very weird. Could you tell me what version of the PlayStation 3 firmware you’re running? And does the game crash when you use the in-game calibration or the system calibration? I hope we can get to the bottom of this.
Great news! But how about PC?
We’re still working on it.
I thought there would be news on the PC version sometime nextweek
I hoped there would be. The trouble is pestering the programming department to halt production while you get them to conjure up screenshots, videos and reports on improvements. At this point, we’re more keen to get cracking with the actual game making, but we’ll get news out there as soon as we have something absolutely tantalizing to say.
Any info about approximate release date?
Not right now.
Why can’t I get to the 3d-options? Other games work fine with 3d.
The 3D options are located in the video settings.
Hey Alf, please please help! Ive just updated the patch for strangers wrath ps3 and gone to the 3d optios, turned it on and…WHITE NOISE! All i get is white noise and i spent half an hour trying to put the game back into 2d!!! Are you aware of this problem? Please help id realy love to experience this amazing game in 3d!
I’ve never heard of that problem before but I’ll pass it along to the team. What 3DTV do you have?
Hi Alf,
Nice update!
Bit vague the Performance Improvements bit. What do you mean exactly?
Also, I was hoping this fixed the trophy glitches that others and unfortunately myself are experiencing but sadly not. Do you know how to fix this Alf? I’ve been trying to get Too Big for Your Bridges to ding but it doesn’t after several successful jumps from both sides. I’ll try the others and see if they pop and i’ll try a re-install after that.
Regards,
The performance improvements mostly affect a few key points that suffered from framerame drops when loading in new areas. The game just generally is less demanding on your PS3′s processor that it was before.
Nobody has ever reported any trophy glitches to us. Could you provide any further details?
I love oddowrld stranger’s wrath hd, thank you oddworld. User DAMNED-KSA
is it true that people can record there oddworld stranger’s wrath gameplay on to youtube now? also I think the HD remake is ODDtastic! ya know what I’m saying? P.S when will you show a trailer for Abe HD, I’m honestly curious?
It’s true! You can hook your YouTube into your PlayStation 3 and record footage directly from Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD. Then you can share your videos with your friends so everyone can see how ODDtastic the game is! Don’t know about a trailer, but you’ll see your first of Abe HD this year.
Will we get munch oddy see on ps3 I already finish it more than 5 time but I want to buy it hd and finish it again because I like the part where Abe or munch have to drink that tea or soda especially when munch burps.
Yes, Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee HD is coming to PlayStation 3.
…I left a comment earlier you may have missed, is there anything new in the mix at Oddworld Inhabitants?
It’s possible. As much as I strive to respond to everyone, we get so many comments it’s all too easy for some to slip by. Right now our focus is split between finishing Munch HD and Stranger HD, and working on Abe HD.
Mate I have the exact same problem, it’s a real pain in the arse, and I’m not sure if it’s cvoeernd by warranty because it’s not a Red Ring, even though it fucks your Xbox just as bad.
quick question do you think maybe one of these days ODDnificent lorne lanning should make his own cameo in a future oddworld game? cause I would love see him as either a mudoken, steef, or a different humanoid ODDling? P.S has Lorne chosen a release date for Oddworld Munch’s Oddysee HD yet?
Lorne doesn’t choose the releaese date. The earliest opportune release date is chosen once the game has passed Sony’s QA.
Hey Alf, I was just on the OWI Facebook page. Is it true that Munch’s Oddysee HD is in Q/A yet?
Yes, Munch is currently in QA.
Hi Alf, I discovered a bug when I use the 3D during the time sequence, time goes by twice as fast. It is impossible to arrive there without removing the 3D .
This may be a bug we weren’t anticipating. Obviously to create the 3DTV we need to render everything twice, once for each eye. This might explain the clock counting down twice as quickly. We’ve added it to our buglist and will look at it for the next update to Stranger HD for PS3. In the meantime, it’s relatively trivial to turn off the 3DTV for that section only. Sorry about that inconvenience, though!
